Commodores Sweep Kent State Tuscarawas

October 7, 2022 - - The Lorain County Community College volleyball team shook off a back and forth first set and dominated the rest of the way against Kent State Tuscarawas, sweeping the Golden Eagles for their sixth sweep of the season.

After surviving the first set, 26-24, LCCC rebounded to control the match the rest of the way, winning the second set, 25-14, and the third set, 25-15.  As a team, LCCC hit .231 for the match.

Chelsey Farris (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria HS) hit .421 in three sets with nine kills including six blocks (four solo).   Maggie Riley (Elyria, Ohio/Midview HS) had 13 assists and set at 42%. Brooklyn Ollis (Amherst, Ohio/Firelands HS) had a team-high three aces and Izabel Gallardo-Santo Domingo (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria HS) had a team-high 14 digs and passed at 100% with a 2.60 rating.

With the win, the Commodores improve to 9-5 on the season with five games remaining on the 2022 schedule.

The Commodores will take on the Lakeland Community College Lakers on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at the Ewing Activities Center Gymnasium.
