LCCC SUBWAY MARKETPLACE Athlete of the Week for Feb. 4-10

Deonte Benejan (Queens, N.Y./Lorain HS) is the Lorain County Community College SUBWAY MARKETPLACE Athlete of the Week for the week of February 4-10, 2024.

Benejan continued his torrid scoring pace last week as the freshman dropped 32 points in back-to-back games for the Commodores.  Last Wednesday, he knocked three 3-point baskets against Cuyahoga Community College while going 11-for-20 from the field.  In the Commodores loss to the Community College of Allegheny County, he was the game high scorer with five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  In both games, Benejan went 19-for-21 from the free throw line.

Benejan ranks second in NJCAA DIII scoring with 27.3 points per game, 573 total points scored, and 164 total free throws made.  His 193 made field goals and 84.5 free throw percentage rank seventh in the country.
