April 30, 2024 - - In April, Lorain County Community College’s Assistant Athletic Director and Head Coach of the Commodore Cross Country teams, Jim Powers, received recognition from the Lorain County Track and Cross Country Hall of Fame with the Jack Wilhelm Running Leadership Memorial Award.
February 13, 2024 - - While the Lorain County Community College cross country teams were cultivating top-10 finishes at nationals last November, they were earning top marks in the classroom as well. Last week, seven student-athletes from the Commodore cross country team made the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic list after stellar grade reports during the 2023 fall season.
January 22, 2024 - - Fall semesters across the conference have officially wrapped up and 28 of Lorain County Community College’s student-athletes have received Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) All-Academic and LCCC Honor Roll awards.
Jackie Below won a national championship in the 1978 NJCAA 100m dash and earned All-American status in both 1978 and 1979 for the Commodores.

Robert Rogers (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview HS) is the Lorain County Community College SUBWAY MARKETPLACE Athlete of the Week for the week of April 21-27, 2024. Rogers became the first LCCC Esports player to win a national tournament in the Tier 2 National Junior College Athletic Association Esports Playoffs in Mario Kart 8.
