Brandon Lawler Takes Over Women's Basketball Program Following Dr. Vince Granito Retirement From Coaching

May 16, 2024 - - A new, yet familiar face is set to lead the Lorain County Community College women’s basketball program next season.  Brandon Lawler, an assistant coach on the men’s basketball team since 2018, has been tabbed to lead the women’s basketball program starting this fall in his first stint as a head coach at the collegiate level.

May 20, 2024 - - Although the Lorain County Community College baseball season ended this month in the National Junior College Athletic Association DIII Region 12 Tournament at Sports Force Parks in Sandusky, Ohio, one Commodore earned recognition with a spot on the Region 12 DIII All-Tournament team.

April 27, 2024 - -  The Lorain County Community College baseball team brushed off two losses to Kent State Tuscarawas on Friday to bounce back against the Kent State University’s club team, outscoring them 19-5, to pick up two wins and their first doubleheader sweep of the season.

April 28, 2024 - - The Lorain County Community College Esports program finished the National Junior College Athletic Association Spring Playoffs with two teams placing in the top four over the weekend.  On Friday, the Super Smash Bros. Gold Crew Battle squad finished fourth in the Tier 3 playoffs while the Valorant team won their third place match on Saturday with a 3-0 sweep against Dutchess Community College.

April 25, 2024 - - For the first time in program history, the Lorain County Community College Esports team has a national champion.  Robert Rogers (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview HS) needed to win three straight matches – all against higher seeds – to claim LCCC’s first national title in Esports and he did just that.

April 25, 2024 - - The Lorain County Community College Valorant team of the Esports program suffered a Final Four loss to the College of DuPage in the National Junior College Athletic Association Esports Tier 3 Tournament.  With the loss, the Commodores move into a 3rd place match up on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. against Dutchess Community College.

April 24, 2024 - - Lorain County Community College’s Robert Rogers (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview HS), of the Commodores Esports program, finished in 3rd place in the National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE) Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (SSBU) Tier 2 Tournament.  Rogers went 5-2 in the SSBU postseason with his only two losses coming against top-seeded Kirtland Community College, who finished in 2nd place behind 11-seeded Hinds Community College.

April 22, 2024 - - Tuesday night will kick off a big week for the Lorain County Community College Esports program.  In a span of five days, the Commodores will seek a national title in four different events: 1v1 Super Smash Bros. April 16, 2024 - - The National Junior College Athletic Association Esports spring season has wrapped and the Lorain County Community College Esports team has moved into the playoff mode.  Things kicked off on Tuesday night with the 1v1 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament.  LCCC had eight student-athletes competing on Tuesday and after the dust settled it was Robert Rogers (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview HS) still alive and heading to Round 3 of the Tier 2 Playoffs.
