LCCC SUBWAY MARKETPLACE Athlete of the Week for Mar. 24-30

Mason Shultz (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion HS) is the Lorain County Community College SUBWAY MARKETPLACE Athlete of the Week for the week of March 24-30, 2024.

Shultz was the catalysts for the Commodores in their two wins last week.  On March 27, against Hocking College, he propelled LCCC to a comeback victory by going 3-for-3 at the plate with two walks and 5 RBI.  With the Commodores trailing in game one, he cleared the bases with a triple to tie the game and scooted home to score the winning run on an error by Hocking's pitcher.

Two days later, he crushed two homeruns during LCCC’s 9-0 win against the Community Christian College Lions going 2-for-4 with four runs batted in. During the week, Shultz went 7-for-17 in six games with three extra base hits.  He is batting .356 on the season and leads the Commodores in RBI with 18.
