SUBWAY MARKETPLACE Athlete of the Week - Nov. 16-22

Xander Taylor (Elyria, Ohio/Huron HS) has been named the LCCC SUBWAY MARKETPLACE Athlete of the Week for the week of November 16–22, 2025.

Taylor earned the honor after winning the NJCAAE Hearthstone Division III Opt-In Tournament National Championship on November 18, completing an undefeated postseason run. Entering the bracket as the No. 1 seed, he advanced to the title match with a 3–2 semifinal victory over No. 4 seed Rylan Roach of Three Rivers College.

In the championship round, Taylor faced teammate and No. 3 seed Veronica Gibson (Sandusky, Ohio/Trinity HS) in an all-LCCC final. He secured the national title with a 3–1 win, finishing the postseason without a match loss.

With this victory, Taylor becomes the second LCCC Esports athlete to win an NJCAAE Tournament Championship, joining 2024 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Division II national champion Robert Rogers (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview HS).
