Bio
King has been a fixture in Lorain County women’s basketball since her high school days. As a standout player for the Elyria Pioneers girls basketball team, she earned All-District and Second Team All-Ohio honors during her senior year, averaging 19.2 points per game. She set the single-game scoring record for the Pioneers twice, with 34 points.
Named the 2008 Lorain County Miss Basketball, she attended Cleveland State University from 2008 to 2013, where she was a starter for all but one game during her junior and senior years. In 2010, she and the Vikings won the Horizon League Tournament and made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. She made the Dean’s List from 2011 to 2013 and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 2013.
Since 2016, King has been coaching youth basketball at the high school level, starting with Elyria and later moving to Lorain. She coached Elyria’s freshman and junior varsity teams from 2016 to 2021 before joining Lorain as the assistant coach for the varsity team in October 2021.
In 2022, she became a basketball instructor and official for the Elyria Parks and Recreation Department. She has also been involved in several charitable causes, including Kids Kicking Cancer, Coats for Kids, Special Olympics, and volunteering with the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Justice Center and Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
When not coaching women’s basketball, King works as a DBT Group Facilitator at Reach Behavioral Health and serves as a Basketball Skills Development Coach with Elevation Training Center. She is engaged to Diamond Grissom and has two stepdaughters, London and Lyric.
