Bio

Tim LaBar serves as the Pitching Coach and Infield Coordinator for the Lorain County Community College Commodores baseball program. His primary responsibilities include leading the pitching staff and guiding infield development.

LaBar brings a wealth of coaching experience to LCCC, having previously spent nine seasons as the Varsity Pitching Coach at Lakewood High School. During his tenure, Lakewood captured four sectional championships and one conference title.  Beyond his on-field coaching, he played a major role in developing summer baseball camps, youth coaching clinics, and fundraising initiatives to grow the program and community engagement.

His coaching background extends into professional baseball as well. LaBar worked with the Cleveland Indians organization as a clubhouse assistant, video coordinator, and bullpen catcher for both the Akron Aeros and Mahoning Valley Scrappers. In those roles, he assisted directly with pitching and hitting instructors, gaining valuable experience at the professional level.

Outside of coaching, LaBar has established a strong career in education and athletic administration. He currently serves as the Director of Development at Birchwood School of Hawken in Cleveland, where he has led fundraising campaigns, organized large-scale events, and overseen scheduling and compliance responsibilities.

LaBar is a graduate of the University of Akron with a degree in Sport Studies, earning cum laude honors and appearing on the Dean’s List six semesters. He went on to complete his Master’s in Athletic Administration at Ohio University, earning Registered Athletic Administrator certification through the NIAAA. Dedicated to the full development of student-athletes, LaBar combines his coaching, professional, and administrative experience to positively impact the Commodores baseball program on and off the field.
