March 20, 2023 - - Lorain County Community College baseball lost both games of a double header to Ohio Community College Athletic Conference foe Cuyahoga Community College on Monday, falling in game one 14-0 and 25-3 in the second contest.
While the Commodores couldn't muster much offense in the first game, they came out and scored two runs in the top of the first to the take the early lead. Cuyahoga plated three in the bottom of the first and the Commodores answered with a run to tie things up in the top of the second.
From there it was all Cuyahoga, as the Division II Triceratops scored seven in the bottom half of the inning and then 11 runs in the third.
The Commodores started game two with back-to-back singles by Jaden Nestor-Fox (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion HS) and Joey Kulwicki (Grafton, Ohio/Midview HS). Jonathan St. Peter (Amherst, Ohio/Amherst HS) doubled two batters later to score Nester Fox and Kulwicki.
Mike Flachbart (North Ridgeville, Ohio/North Ridgeville HS) walked to start the second inning and then was drove home by Mason Schultz (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion HS) to tie the game at three runs apiece.
The Commodores will play the Triceratops this weekend for another doubleheader at Sports Force Parks in Sandusky, Ohio this Saturday starting at 1 p.m. This Wednesday they will travel to Indian Tech University for two games against Indiana Tech and Trine University.
