Commodores Set Record With 11th Straight Victory, 107-67, at Valley Forge Military Academy

The Lorain County Community College men's basketball team raced to its 11th consecutive win on Monday evening, December 18, 107-67, at Valley Forge Military Academy, just outside of Philadelphia, PA.  Based on the school's available information, the 11-0 mark sets a new school-record for consecutive victories.

LCCC entered the game as the second-highest scoring team in NJCAA Division III, scoring 103.1 points per game.  The new average of 103.5 is likely to maintain its #2 position.  Eastfield College (TX) leads the DIII nation in scoring at 106.8 ppg.
 
The Commodores displayed balanced scoring, as usual, with four players in double figures.  Sophomore forward Daniel Lott paced the scoring with 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting.  Freshman guard Thomas Hronis collected 15 points.  Sophomore forward Mike Rell tossed in 14 points, converting 5-of-8 shots. Freshman guard Oscar Dorsey added 11 points, a team-high 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.  Sophomore Jake Schultz dished out a team-high 6 assists and tallied 8 points.  Freshman center/forward Jovon Jones came up big in just 11 minutes of action, scoring 8 points and grabbing 6 boards.
 
 It was LCCC's third straight win by a margin of 40 or more points.
 
Tomorrow (Tuesday, Dec. 19) the Commodores will be tested at the Community College of Philadelphia, ranked 13th in DIII.
