LCCC Men’s Basketball Loses on the Road to DII Sinclair CC

February 10, 2019 - - The polar vortex did no favors for the Lorain County Community College Men's Basketball team, as they had to suit up for their 5th game in just eight days with all the rescheduled contests.

After a home loss to Clark State on Saturday, LCCC travelled to Sinclair Community College for a 3 pm tipoff today, playing back to back OCCAC games this weekend against DII opponents.

Lorain got into early foul trouble and found themselves down by 20 in the contest, before trading baskets the rest of the way with the Tartan Pride, in the end losing to Sinclair 92-68.

"It was a tough matchup today and rough playing so many games in such a short stretch," stated Lorain Head Coach Marty Eggleston. "We had great effort by several players, but after getting into foul trouble, we could never really get any momentum going to get back into the game."

No final stats were available at the time of this press release but according to Eggleston, "Justin Newman (Cincinnati/Robert A. Taft) had 29 points, plus Jacob Marsh (Elyria) and Isaiah Linder (Brooklyn) both scored in double-digits."

The Commodores drop to 13-12 overall and 4-8 in the OCCAC, while Sinclair improves to 15-8 and 6-3.

LCCC heads back home for an OCCAC matchup against Columbus State on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. Game time is 7:30 pm.
