Men’s Basketball Comeback Falls Short against Owens

February 5, 2020 - - LCCC Men's Basketball team fought back from a double-digit deficit to draw within three points of Owens Community College late in the second-half when the Express ran off ten unanswered points on their way to a 100-85 win over the Commodores in OCCAC action.

De'Miko Nelson (Cincinnati/DePaul Cristo Rey) was a key factor in the comeback effort and finished with a game-high 23 points. He also handed out four assists. Jaylen Jenkins (Willoughby/Willoughby South) had another stellar night at point-guard with eight assists, to go along with 12 points.

Derek Yahnke (Hilliard/Hilliard Bradley) put up a double-double with 15 points and 15 boards, while Alex Wyatt (Brunswick) dropped in 16 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and blocked two shots. Jacob Marsh (Elyria) added six assists.

LCCC falls to 4-18 on the season and 0-6 in the OCCAC, while Owens improves to 13-12 and 5-3. The Commodores square off against Columbus State Community College for their next OCCAC contest at 3 p.m., Saturday, February 8, 2020.
