Men’s Basketball Loses to DII Lakeland

November 20, 2019 - - LCCC Men's Basketball team played a competitive first half against Division II Lakeland Community College until the final few minutes when the Lakeland jumped out to a 55-45 lead heading into the locker room. The Lakers continued their momentum in the second and their lead on to a 116-87 win.

Commodore big man, Derek Yahnke (Hilliard/Hilliard Bradley) was sidelined by an injury and the Lakers used it to take a 41-24 advantage on the boards. They also shot an impressive 57.7% from the field for the night.

LCCC's Jaylen Jenkins (Willoughby/Willoughby South) led all scorers with 19, including 4-4 from downtown. He also dished out a team-leading six assists and had two steals. Kevin Miller, Jr. (Elyria) had 12 points and three assists, while DeMaris Conner (Shaker Heights) added 11, and Jacob Marsh (Elyria) scored 10.

The Commodores are back home on Saturday to play CCAC Allegheny at 3 p.m., November 23, 2019.
