2022 NJCAA Championships

Both the men's and women's long distance runners finished in the top ten at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Championships in Westfield, Mass. last season with the No. 8 ranked LCCC men finished 9th with 281 points, their first top-10 finish since 2015.

The women finished 10th in the country despite not being ranked all season long in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) polls.  At Nationals, they scored 269 points and got their first top-10 finish since 2019.

Continued Success at the NJCAA Region XII Championships

Prior to NJCAA Nationals, the men's team won its fourth Region XII DIII title in a row and their ninth in the last 12 years on the campus of Grand Rapids Community College on November 16, 2022.  For the women's team, it is their first since 2017 and their fourth championship since 2012.

All-American Duo

LCCC produced two All-American runners in Matthew Bowman and Caleb Cabrera in 2022.  Bowman returns for his sophomore year while Cabrera has transferred to the University of Mount Union to run for its cross country program this fall. Bowman finished 23rd overall in 28:11, earning USTFCCCA All-American honors.
