December 19, 2022 – – The Lorain County Community College women's basketball team fought in the second half but couldn't knock Butler County Community College, losing 77-61.
Leading the Commodores in scoring was Cora Sanders (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria HS) with 25 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. Also scoring double figures was Jelene Williams (Sheffield Village, Ohio/Brookside HS) with her first double-digit scoring game of the season with 16 points going 6-for-12 for the evening.
LCCC went into the break trailing the Pioneers (10-1) by seven and even cut the lead to three points after a Williams lay-up with six minutes left in the third quarter. However, that would be the end of the Commodore run as the Pioneers went on a 12-0 run to quell the comeback.
The Commodores are off until after the New Year when they take on Miami Hamilton in Hamilton, Ohio on January 5th, 2023.
