Commodores Drop Season Opener To Lakeland CC, 5-2

August 30, 2023 - - The Lorain County Community College women's club soccer team led the Lakeland Community College Lakers at halftime but were unable to keep the lead as they fell 5-2 Tuesday afternoon at the LCCC Soccer Fields.

Kaylee Aslinger (Williamsburg, Ky./Whitley Country HS) scored both goals in the first half while Abbey Schmitz (South Amherst, Ohio/Firelands HS) had 14 saves for the Commodores.

"I'm incredibly proud of the effort our team displayed in the first game," said Jessie Paul, who's entering her eighth season as head coach of the Commodores. "With the group we have, I am excited for what the rest of the season will bring."

The Commodores next match will be against the Terra State Community College Titans on September 5^th, 2023 at the LCCC Soccer Field at 3 p.m.
