LCCC Volleyball Holding Open Gyms From Dec. to May

December 12, 2023 - - The Lorain County Community College women's volleyball team is holding open gyms throughout the spring for local volleyball players that are interested in joining the LCCC Commodores volleyball team in the fall of 2024.

Open gyms will be on Mondays inside the Ewing Activities Center on LCCC's Elyria Campus starting in December and will go until May from 7:30-9 p.m. Lorain County Community College students interested in joining the women's varsity volleyball team are invited to join open gyms now through May.

Open gyms are held from 7:30-9 p.m. on Mondays inside the Ewing Activites Center on the main LCCC campus in Elyria.

 

The Commodores are coming off a 7-11 season with a 6-6 record in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC).  LCCC had two players make the All-OCCAC Second Team in Izabel Gallardo-Santo Domingo and Josie Filice.

For This was Gallardo-Santo Domingo's second appearance on the all-conference second team.  She won the OCCAC Libero of the Year Award in 2022 during her freshman season.

Under the leadership of Head Coach Ted Whitsel, the Commodores have made three NJCAA National Finals appearances with a runner- up finish in 2014.

Whitsel won the OCCAC Coach of the Year Award in 2022.
