SUBWAY MARKETPLACE Athlete of the Week for Mar. 16-22

Lorain County Community College softball standout Alexis Sheridan has been named the SUBWAY MARKETPLACE Athlete of the Week after an explosive all-around performance in a doubleheader sweep against Terra State on March 16-22.

Sheridan was unstoppable at the plate, going a combined 9-for-10 across both games with 9 runs scored, 11 RBIs, 1 double, and an eye-popping 3 home runs in the first game alone. She set the tone in Game 1, recording a perfect 5-for-5 day with 5 runs and 9 RBIs, launching three balls over the fence in one of the most dominant offensive showings of the season. She followed that with another stellar effort in Game 2, going 4-for-5 with 4 runs and 2 more RBIs, including a double.

Sheridan also contributed in the circle, starting Game 1 and grinding through seven full innings. Despite giving up 14 hits and 10 runs, she kept her composure to help secure the 15-10 victory, showcasing her toughness and team-first mentality. She struck out 4 and walked 5 in the effort.

Sheridan’s combination of power, consistency, and leadership made a massive impact on both sides of the game and helped fuel a high-scoring sweep for the Commodores.
