Commodores Regroup To Capture First Win Of 2023

March 29, 2023 - - The Lorain County Community College Commodores were three outs away from their first win of the season until Westmoreland plated two runs in the bottom of the seventh to snatch victory away in game one of the Wednesday doubleheader.  However, LCCC regrouped and did pick up their first win of the season with a 6-5 victory for the split in game two.

Joey Kulwicki (Grafton, Ohio/Midview HS) went the distance for the Commodores in game two striking out five batters in seven innings of work. He also scored the winning run after leading off the seventh inning with a hit.

Jaden Nestor-Fox (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion HS) scored twice in game two while Rocky Houston (Grafton, Ohio/Keystone HS) and Mason Shultz (Amherst, Ohio/Marion L. Steele HS) both drove in multiple runs.  Jonathan St. Peter (Amherst, Ohio/Marion L. Steele HS) and Julian Martinez (Grafton, Ohio/Midview HS) both notched an RBI as well. St. Peter and teammate Ben DeSimone (Grafton, Ohio/Midview HS) each had multi-hit games.

Austin Isenhart (Elyria, Ohio/Midview HS) and Nick Morgan (Grafton, Ohio/Midview HS) both drove in runs for LCCC in game one against the Wolfpack while Nestor-Fox turned a triple play to kill a Wolfpack rally.

Cody DeVos (Bay Village, Ohio/Bay HS) started for LCCC in game one and pitched six innings with seven strikeouts and only allowed one run.
