April 8, 2025 - - The Lorain County Community College baseball team was swept by Clark State College on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 in Springfield, Ohio in a matchup of Ohio Community College Athletic Conference foes in a midweek doubleheader.
Game 1: Clark State 9, LCCC 1
Travis Gentry (Huntsville, Ala./Huntsville HS) drove in LCCC's only run of the opener, while Jacob Sanders (Columbia Station, Ohio/Columbia HS) and Yannick Kiss (Bad Homberg, Germany/Phillip-Reis Schule) each notched hits.
On the mound, Nick Schuster carried the load for LCCC, pitching all six innings and striking out one batter.
Game 2: Clark State 12, LCCC 2
Lorain County came out with energy in the second game, taking an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning after Sanders worked a walk and came around to score. Jackson Frame (Newcastle, Austrailia/Callaghan HS) delivered an RBI single to bring him home—one of LCCC's few hits but a key moment that gave the Commodores momentum out of the gate.
Louis Jones (Romulus, Mich./Edsel Ford HS) also chipped in with a hit. Behind the dish, Giovanni Crawford (Reno, Nevada/Earl Wooster HS) provided steady defense while drawing a walk and reaching base.
ReDon Jones III (Mayfield Heights, Ohio/Cornerstone Christian HS) pitched 4.2 innings for LCCC in the second game.
