April 23, 2025 - - The Lorain County Community College baseball split a doubleheader against Lakeland Community College on Wednesday in Kirtland, highlighted by a six-run fourth inning in game one and a fast start in game two.
In game one, LCCC erupted for six runs in the fourth inning to erase an early deficit and claim a 7-5 victory. Colin McCrone (Lakewood, Ohio/Lakewood HS) led the offense with a home run and two RBIs. Giovanni Crawford (Reno, Nev./Earl Wooster HS) also chipped in two RBIs, while Kian Ortiz (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS) and Nick Jiminian (Bronx, N.Y./Mooresville HS) each added an RBI. Jackson Frame (Newcastle, Austrailia/Callaghan HS) and Luke Decker (Grafton, Ohio/Midview HS) each recorded two hits. Nick Schuster (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria HS) went the distance on the mound, throwing 7 innings with 5 strikeouts.
In game two, LCCC came out strong with a four-run first inning. Ortiz drove in two runs, Crawford added two RBIs. Jiminian and Luke Decker (Grafton, Ohio/Midview HS) each contributed one RBI. Jacob Sanders (Columbia Station, Ohio/Columbia HS) paced the lineup with two hits and a walk. On the mound, ReDon (TJ) Jones III (Mayfield Heights, Ohio/Cornerstone Christian HS) and Yannick Kiss (Bad Homburg, Germany/Phillip Schule) combined to handle the pitching duties.
