
Beck Wins OCCAC Player of the Week Honor
September 4, 2024 - - For the second week in a row, the Lorain County Community College women's volleyball team had a student athlete recognized as Player of the Week by the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.
On August 30 and 31, at the Owens Invitational in Perrysburg, Ohio, first-year player Isabella Beck (Wellington, Ohio/Wellington HS) combined for 25 kills in four matches. She had double digit kills (11) in the Commodores' win over NJCAA Region 12 DIII rival Delta College. She also had her best game hitting against the Delta Pioneers with a .379 hitting percentage. On the first day of the tournament, she had 24 digs and two blocks in the Commodores five-set loss to Jackson College.
Last week, sophomore Ava Haddix was given the weekly laurel after her performance in LCCC's season opening win against Hocking College where she had 24 assists and put up 8 service aces in the three-set road victory.
