SUBWAY MARKETPLACE Athlete of the Week for Jan. 5-11

Ally Winnen (Lorain, Ohio/Elyria Catholic HS) is the LCCC SUBWAY MARKETPLACE Athlete of the Week for January 5-11, 2025.

Winnen’s week started with a bang on January 5 in a commanding 81-53 victory over the Community College of Allegheny County. She was unstoppable in the paint, scoring 21 points on an efficient 69.2% shooting while pulling down 21 rebounds, including 10 on the offensive glass. Her seven assists and three blocks capped off a stellar all-around performance.

The momentum continued on January 8 when the Commodores faced Lakeland Community College on the road. In a 75-65 victory, Winnen poured in a season-high 30 points on 57.9% shooting and sinking 8 of 10 free throws. She added 18 rebounds with two steals and two blocks.

Even in a hard-fought 90-83 loss to Edison State on January 11, Winnen helped keep the Commodores within striking distance. She scored 26 points on 56.3% shooting, grabbed another 18 rebounds, and converted 72.7% of her free throws.

Across the week, Winnen averaged 25.7 points, 19 rebounds, and 3 assists per game while shooting 60.8% from the field.
