
Baseball and Softball Practices Begin In January
January 10, 2025 - - Lorain County Community College is excited to announce the start of practices for its softball and baseball teams this month as they prepare for their upcoming seasons in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) and NJCAA Division III Region 12.
Softball will begin practice from 5:30-7 p.m., Tuesday, January 21, in the Ewing Activities Center Fieldhouse, while baseball will start at 5 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, in the Fieldhouse.
The LCCC baseball team will open its 2025 season on Saturday, March 1, against Kent State Tuscarawas at The Pipe Yard in Lorain, with the season running through mid-May. The softball team will play its season opener on Wednesday, March 19, at Terra State Community College, with the season also concluding in mid-May.
To compete, LCCC student-athletes must meet eligibility requirements, including being a full-time student, maintaining a minimum 2.0 GPA, and completing Intercollegiate Athletics Requirement Forms. Students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours during the semester of participation and meet academic progress guidelines to remain eligible.
