Bio

Marty Eggleston joined the LCCC staff as the head men’s basketball coach in December 2012. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience, having played and coached at every level from peewee to the professional ranks, including running major clinics and camps to train players individually.

Eggleston played center for the Kutztown University (Kutztown, PA) men’s basketball team where he set 14 Kutztown career, season and game records, 11 of which still stand today.

A native of Coatesville, Pa., “Coach Marty” is a high school and collegiate All-American and a three-time Hall of Famer with more than 10,000 pro points and 10,000 rebounds.  After his historic career at Kutztown University, he embarked on an 11-year pro career where he played for and coached teams in the NBA, CBA, USBL, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Poland, and Uruguay.

He began his coaching career as a camp counselor with the Philadelphia 76ers Basketball Camp, where he mentored and coached over 300 student-athletes each year for 12 years. He then directed his own basketball camp for 15 years at International Sports Training Camp. During this time, he formed the Rim Rockers International Basketball Academy that held camps and clinics for boys and girls and is still the president of this organization today.

From 2000-2003, he coached at the Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown, Pa., and was head coach of the Delaware Lady Destroyers, a women’s pro team in the Eastern Basketball Alliance. He was also the assistant coach of the EBA Champion Delaware Destroyers men’s team from 2005-2007. From 2009 to 2011, Eggleston was head coach and regional director of the American Basketball Academy.

Coach Eggleston founded and is president of A.R.M. (Activating Responsible Men), an organization with the goal of empowering and educating men and fathers on the importance of their influence in the lives of their children. He has been in the field of education for over 25 years and is a certified Parent Educator and certified trainer with the National Fatherhood Initiative.

He is married to Lanette with whom he shares five children, and five grandchildren. He and his wife have co-founded S.T.E.P. International Inc. (Strengthening Teaching & Empowering People); a non-profit social service organization.

He is currently the longest tenured coach in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference and is a 3-time NJCAA Region 12 Champion.
