NJCAAE Week 7 Closes Out As Postseason Ramps Up Next Week

November 15, 2024 - -  The Lorain County Community College Esports team wrapped up Week 7 of the National Junior College Athletic Association Esports fall season on Friday.  The Commodores faced off in the Super Smash Bros.: Ultimate team competition known as Crew Battle.

Friday night had two LCCC squads competing in Tier 3 – Open Series competition.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Crew Battle – 3v3 – Best-of-Three

LCCC 1 (Robert Rogers (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview HS), Gabriel Beckstrom (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview HS), Colby Cabrera (Amherst, Ohio/Marion L. Steele HS)) team defeated Marshalltown Community College in two rounds.  Rogers led his team with 11 knockouts including eight straight knockouts in the second round.  

LCCC 2 (Josh Conde (Lorain, Ohio/LCCC Early College), Jason Thomas (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview HS), and Christopher Gonet (Lorain, Ohio/LCCC Early College)) lost to Lackawanna Community College, 2-0.  Conde led his team in knockouts with eight.
