Commodores Fall To Cuyahoga CC, 111-83

February 7, 2024 - -  Lorain County Community College men's basketball lost to Cuyahoga Community College Wednesday evening, 111-83.  The Commodores were anchored by the scoring of Deonte Benejan and Tavion Pride who led LCCC in scoring with 32 and 24 respectively.

Jayden Maxwell (Chicago, Ill./Buchtel CLC) – 10 points, 2 steals, 1 assists

The Triceratops (18-6, 7-3) gained the advantage early and didn't look back as the Commodores (4-20, 1-12) got down by 12 points after the first 20 minutes, 45-33.  Jayden Maxwell got into foul trouble early and had to sit on the bench for most of the first half. 

In the second half, Cuyahoga flexed their muscle inside the paint, outrebounding the Commodores 26-10. The Triceratops also moved the ball as they dished out 12 assists to LCCC's four. Tri-C went on to win 111-83.

• Tavion Pride's 24 points is the fifth time the freshman has scored 20+ in just nine games
• Benejan's 32 points is the seventh time the freshman has scored 30+ this season.
• LCCC shot 43% from the floor

LCCC will stay on the road this weekend when they travel to Community College of Allegheny County this Saturday, February 10, 2024 for a non-conference match up.  LCCC lost to the Wildcats on November 4, 2024, 98-79.
