January 5, 2025 – The Lorain County Community College men's basketball team showed resilience in the second half against the Community College of Allegheny County Wildcats but ultimately fell short, losing 124-104 at the Ewing Activities Center Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon.
Despite the loss, the Commodores displayed flashes of a comeback, led by standout performances from Dennis Pettis Jr. (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS) and Julius Moon (Lorain, Ohio/Open Door Christian HS). Pettis Jr. delivered a stellar performance, leading all scorers with 29 points on 11-for-15 shooting. Moon came off the bench to contribute 15 points, including three makes from beyond the arc.
Deonte Benejan (Queens, N.Y./Lorain HS) added 17 points and 5 assists, while Toriano Goodwin (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview HS) chipped in 12 points off the bench.

The Commodores return to Ohio Community College Athletic Conference play on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, when they travel to Lakeland Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
