Commodores Fall To Clark State

February 8, 2025 - - The Lorain County Community College men's basketball team faced a tough challenge on Saturday, falling 113-73 to Clark State College (13-10, 5-5) at the Ewing Activities Center Gymnasium.

 

The Commodores struggled in the first half, committing 11 turnovers and shooting just 36% from the field. The Eagles capitalized on LCCC's miscues, taking control early and building a commanding 52-31 halftime lead.

 

Despite the loss, Dennis Pettis Jr. (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS) was a bright spot for LCCC (2-25, 2-12), leading the team with 18 points, six rebounds, and two three-pointers. He paced the Commodores in the first half, scoring seven points in just 11 minutes of play.

 

Kayden Thomas (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS) also contributed 10 points and nine rebounds, while Toriano Goodwin (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview HS) added 11 points.

 

Next Up:

The Commodores will wrap up their home schedule on Wednesday when they host the Owens Community College Express at 7:30 p.m. LCCC fell to Owens 106-99 on Jan. 29 in Perrysburg, Ohio. If the Commodores defeat the Express by eight or more points, they will host the NJCAA DIII Region 12 Championship on Feb. 22.
