Winnen’s Record-Breaking Debut Nets First OCCAC Player of the Week Award

November 6, 2024 - - Ally Winnen of the Lorain County Community College women's basketball team was named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference Player of the Week Tuesday (Nov. 5) after her stellar start to the 2024-25 season last weekend.

Winnen only needed one game to make her mark on the LCCC record book. The sophomore pulled down 22 rebounds in her season debut against the Walsh University JV team last Friday.  The 14 offensive rebounds she had against the JV Cavaliers set a new LCCC record, passing Angel Blakely's record of 11 set in 2017. Lost in her dominate rebounding performance was her scoring as she dropped 20 points against Walsh with two blocks. 

The following day against Kent State-Tuscarawas, she had 13 rebounds and scored eight points, had five assists, and three blocks.
