Commodores Come Up Short Vs. Triceratops In Final Seconds

December 12, 2024 – The Lorain County Community College women's basketball team suffered a narrow defeat, 66-63, against Cuyahoga Community College in a closely contested game on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

Despite a valiant comeback effort, The Commodores (4-7, 1-3) fell short by three points in a dramatic finish.

Ally Winnen (Lorain, Ohio/Elyria Catholic HS) delivered an outstanding performance, recording a double-double with 22 points and 22 rebounds (8 offensive). She also contributed defensively with 3 blocks and 3 steals. Earlier this week, Winnen was named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference's Player of the Week (Dec. 2-8) after scoring 34 points and collecting 16 rebounds in a win over Lakeland Community College.

Abigail Schmitz (Amherst, Ohio/Firelands HS) added 16 points, including a critical three-pointer, along with 4 rebounds and 6 assists, showcasing her all-around game.

Sidney Iler (LaGrange, Ohio/First Baptist Christian HS) provided a spark off the bench with 8 points and 5 rebounds while shooting an efficient 4-for-6 from the field.
