Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Terra State; Men’s Team Falls 4-1

August 24, 2024 - - Soccer season began Saturday morning at Lorain County Community College as the women's club soccer team opened with a 4-0 win against Terra State Community College while the men lost 4-1 in the afternoon tilt.

Scoring twice for the Commodores was Alexa Willard (Sheffield Village, Ohio/Lutheran HS West) while Hannah Miller (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria HS) and Annabelle Stewart (Amherst, Ohio/Marion L. Steele HS) each scored for LCCC.  Willard assisted on Stewart's goal.

Goalkeeper Andria Czarnecki (Parma Heights, Ohio/Valley Forge High School) had six saves and the shutout for LCCC.

In the men's game, Blake Baron (Grafton, Ohio/Midview HS) scored on a penalty kick in the first half when the Commodores were down 2-0.  Terra State was able to keep LCCC scoreless in the second half while keeping the pressure on keeper Steven Adams who had five stops for the Commodores.

Both teams will travel to Owens Community College on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.  The men will play at 2 p.m. while the women's team plays at 4 p.m.
