Sexton Scores Twice As Women's Club Soccer Defeats Terra; Adams Records 22 Saves In Loss

September 5, 2024 - - On August 31, 2024, the Lorain County Community College club soccer teams traveled to Terra State Community College for a rematch of the season opener held on August 24, 2024. And similar to opening day, the women prevailed 3-1 while the men lost 6-1. 

Scoring for the women's team in their second victory of the year was Annabelle Stewart (Amherst, Ohio/Marion L. Steele HS) who found the net after the Titans and Commodores went into the half scoreless.  After Stewart's goal, Makaylee Sexton (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion HS) scored twice to put LCCC up 3-0.  Terra State scored in the final minutes to avoid the shutout but not before keeper Andria Czarnecki (Parma Heights, Ohio/Valley Forge HS) had eight saves.

In the men's game, Daniel Rader scored an equalizing goal halfway through the first half off teammate Seth Elsesser's free kick which Rader headed in for the tie. Keeper Steve Adams (Strongsville, Ohio/St. Edward HS) had 22 saves.

LCCC club soccer will be back on the pitch this Friday, September 6, 2024 when they host the Lakeland Community College Lakers.  The women's game begins at 2 p.m. and the men follow at 4 p.m.
