Women's Club Soccer Shuts Out Lakeland While Men Fall

September 6, 2024 - - The Lorain County Community College club soccer program fought through torrential rain last Friday when the women's team defeated Lakeland College 3-0 while the men fell to the Lakers, 4-0.
Scoring twice for the Commodores was Erica Baldoza who used her speed to break through the Laker defense and score in the 18th minute for LCCC's only goal of the first half. Baldoza scored again in the 80th minute and Catherine Turner (Amherst, Ohio/Marion L. Steele HS) scored near the end of the match to seal the victory for the Commodores. Goalkeeper Andria Czarnecki (Parma Heights, Ohio/Valley Forge HS)had her second shutout of the season.
In the men's contest, LCCC got down early to the Lakers and went into the half trailing 2-0. Lakeland tacked on two more goals in the second half to defeat LCCC 4-0.
The next contest for the LCCC club soccer program will be a co-ed contest against Oberlin College on Saturday, September 14, 2024.
